This is a go-to recipe in our house when we need something fast that everyone will eat. My oldest said that this is one of his favorites. He definitely scarfed it down fast. This is also an easy recipe if you don’t have much cooking experience. The hardest part is chopping the onion. For such a simple recipe, it has great flavor. I found this recipe in a Betty Crocker Cookbook years ago and it has been a staple ever since. Sometimes I replace ground turkey for the ground beef.

Greek Skillet Supper

Ingredients
  • 1 cup uncooked orzo
  • 1 lb. 93% lean ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 15 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp. dried oregano
  • ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • 1 cup crumbled fat free feta cheese
Instructions
  1. Cook and drain pasta 2 minutes less than as directed on package.
  2. While pasta is cooking, cook beef and onion in 10" skillet over medium heat 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain. Stir in pasta, tomato sauce, oregano, cinnamon, salt and pepper. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer uncovered 5 minutes.
  3. Remove skillet from heat. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover and let stand 1-2 minutes to soften cheese.
